Many Superstitions and irrationalities are hidden and ignored in our society. The US economy, for instance, can lose up to $2.4 billion a year due to the fear of the Friday 13th. Whilst Research has shown that we become more superstitious in times of uncertainty. So in an event of both a financial and economic crisis, we begin to find the world, we live in, becoming more uncanny by the second.
The Design Research platform looks at these superstitions and how they come to affect us. The three projects raise questions on our irrationalities by providing services, some are more imaginary than others whilst some are more real.
A compilation of books contain, not only the research and text but also visuals and graphics that become counterparts to the projects. The three projects are: The Superstitious Fund Project, A Manual for an uncanny Stock Market and How to Value A Ghost.
